83% Growth in iPhone App downloads last year

Fiksu, a marketing technology company tracked the effect of iPhone 4S on the overall iPhone app downloads. They found that the volume of download for the top two hundred apps significantly increased to 15% from previous record in October of 4.91 million downloads per day. In November last year, the company’s trend measuring system, the “App Store Competitive Index maxed out at 5.65 million app downloads everyday which has topped the five million mark for the first time. All in all, these totals to 83% increase in November of last year.

IPhone users who are still running the OS build 3.1.3 are seemingly having troubles downloading new applications from Apple’s App Store. Some of the users of older Apple OS build reported on Apple's Support Communities that they are having problems directly installing new apps to their devices although they can still update thiey already existing apps or sync their apps from iTunes to their iPhones.

Apple iPhone 4S maintained popularity despite competition

Owners of iPhone 4S rated their smart phones much higher than iPhone 4 onwers did last year. A pollster body, Change Wave Research conducted a survey early November of more than two hundred iPhone 4S owners in the United States and at least 77% percent of the participants professed high satisfaction with the device while 19% agreed that they are merely ‘satisfied’ with their iPhone. All in all, at least ninety six percent of iPhone 4S owners proclaimed satisfaction with their smart phones. Last year, about 72% of iPhone 4 users were very satisfied while the remaining 21% were reluctantly happy with their iPhones.

What will iPhone 5 be?

A lot of rumors are circulating about what Apple will pull off for their next smart phone. One of the buzzes is that LG is already working on the 4 inches display for the iPhone 5 and according to The Korea Times; the Korean manufacturer is working on the new display that will be one of the leading features for the new iPhone. A deal was negotiated for $1.1 billion for LG to equip Apple’s new line of smart phone with a four inch screen instead of the regular 3.5 inches screen. This new format is said to compete with other smart phone and tablet manufacturer like HTC Flyer, Galaxy Tab, and Kindle Fire among others.
